Teaching Excellence in Bucks and Montgomery Counties
Bucks and Montgomery County schools and students are continually recognized at the regional, state and national level for academics, athletics and creative and performing arts, as well as vocational technical skills.
The success of our area public schools is often recognized by leading news outlets such as Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, Money Magazine, Philadelphia Magazine and The Philadelphia Inquirer. And, according to a survey of area realtors, the quality of our schools helps attract prospective homebuyers and increase the value of real estate. It’s just one more way that public education builds strong communities.
- In 2018-19, Bucks and Montgomery County schools had 78.6% of their graduates indicate they were “college bound.” Statewide, that percentage was 67.3%.
- In 2018-19, the average classroom teacher in Bucks and Montgomery counties’ public schools had 15.2 years of experience. During the same time frame, the average classroom teacher in Pennsylvania had 14.3 years of experience.
- In 2017-18, 79.9 percent of the classroom teachers in Bucks and Montgomery counties’ public schools had Master’s degrees or higher. For Pennsylvania teachers overall, the number with master’s degrees or higher was 58.1 percent.
