Today’s #TeacherTuesday, Jeff Cesari, brought national recognition to Bucks County Technical High School recently by taking home a second-place prize of $50,000 for the school and himself in the Harbor Freight Tools for Schools Teacher of the Year Contest. He holds both a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Education and teaches his students electronic and mechanical skills for all types of power equipment, motorcycles, marine technology and compact diesel engines. What’s more, his graduates all score in the proficient or advanced categories on Pennsylvania’s Technical Program Examination in power technology. The students also have a 100 percent job placement rate and are heavily recruited by post-secondary schools and the Military.
Jeff is thrilled that the funds that come with the award will allow the opportunity to buy new equipment and tools for the program. And he says, “Every teacher talks about it, but there is no denying the satisfaction in seeing a student take interest and learn a skill for the first time.” And he adds that his students learn, “Attention to detail, strategic planning, commitment to expectations and a no-doubt confidence in their skills to work on any type of engine or outdoor power equipment.” He also models behavior which will help his students to be successful in life.
What other teachers have an unbridled passion for helping their students to learn and grow as people? Tell us and we’ll feature them in an upcoming #TeacherTuesday.
