#TeacherTuesday: Cristina McCoach

Cristina McCoach is an earth science teacher at Spring Ford 9th Grade Center in Spring-Ford Area School District and this week’s amazing #TeacherTuesday. She’s thrilled to offer engaging and differentiated instruction in her classroom by co-teaching all five sections with special education teacher, Ashley Fogarty.

“Not only do we meet special education students’ needs with their accommodations and curricular adaptations, we meet all levels of other learners too,” she says.

Cristina notes, “We have learned how to differentiate and engage all of our varied students, with a focus on the use of technology — a classroom set of touch-screen laptops and a Google Apps for Education account (now called G Suite). We employ various apps and techniques to ensure we meet the needs of all our students, whether they be special ed, middle of the line, or advanced.”

Cristina’s passion for science and teaching every student is inspiring. We hope to feature Ashley when she returns from maternity leave but in the meantime, let us know what innovative things are going on inside your classroom and we’ll feature them in an upcoming #TeacherTuesday profile!
