#TeacherTuesday: Julia Szarko

Do you wonder what teachers do with their “free” time over the summer? This week’s #TeacherTuesday, Julia Szarko, a school psychologist at Cold Spring, Buckingham, and Barclay Elementary Schools in Central Bucks School District, continues to fight for students.
She traveled to Washington, D.C., recently to advocate on behalf of the National Association of School Psychologists and the Association of School Psychologists of Pennsylvania at the offices of Sens. Toomey and Casey, as well as Reps. Perry and Fitzpatrick.

“We were advocating regarding funding for IDEA, Title 1, Title 4, and Medicaid services,” she said. “We also shared about the value of preventive efforts including suicide prevention, multi-tiered systems of support, and increased school-based mental health supports. It was an absolute honor to be a voice for our students!”
