#TeacherTuesday: Lenny Robinson

This week’s #TeacherTuesday takes a departure from the norm to feature Mr. Lenny. It’s easy to see why he is a beloved fixture in the Wissahickon School District where he has been a custodian for 14 years. When he saw a need, Lenny Robinson stepped up to develop a creative solution.

“I live in the neighborhood and know we have a lot of kids that have trouble getting their homework done,” says Lenny. “Some of them live with their grandparents and they just can’t help with the homework. I’d see the kids hanging out in the neighborhood or on the playground, and I wanted to find a way to help them, so I started the Homework Club for students in the school district.”

The mission of Wissahickon Athletic Club (W.A.C.) Cares Homework Help is to provide free homework and study assistance to the district’s elementary school students. Teachers, support staff, administration, and high school students all pitch in to help this program that is completely volunteer-based.

Lenny created a phenomenal way for the community to come together and provides a wonderful example of how each of us has the opportunity to make a difference! Please let us know who’s making an impact in the lives of your students and we’ll feature them in an upcoming #TeacherTuesday.
