This week we feature Matt Wendell, a ninth-grade physical science teacher at Penndale Middle School in the North Penn School District. It’s easy to see why he was recently selected as the Montgomery County Science Teacher Association Middle School Science/STEM teacher of the year.
In addition to teaching physical science, earth and space science, and the gifted seminar, Matt also runs the Science Fair and enjoys leading the Ski Club too. His decision to become a teacher was validated when a student returned a few years after being in his class and said, “Mr. Wendell, your class got me interested in chemistry and now I am majoring in chemistry in college. Thanks for making class fun and being excited about science.”
We echo that sentiment and say thanks for inspiring the next generation of #STEM problem-solvers and congrats on the award!
