#TeacherTuesday: Dina McCaffery

Dina McCaffery is another phenomenal example of educators preparing students for jobs that don’t yet exist and is this week’s #TeacherTuesday. This member of the Centennial Education Association teaches ninth to twelfth grade students digital media production at William Tennent High School. After a 20-year stint as a journalist she switched careers and says, “Best decision I ever made!”

Former Journalist Spurs Creative Expression

Dina McCaffery is another phenomenal example of educators preparing students for jobs that don’t yet exist and is this week’s #TeacherTuesday. This member of the Centennial Education Association teaches ninth to twelfth grade students digital media production at William Tennent High School. After a 20-year stint as a journalist she switched careers and says, “Best decision I ever made!” Dina strives to “bring real-world experience into the classroom while empowering young adults to step outside their comfort zone.” She adds, “In my class, students realize that everyone has a story to tell, and they learn to become better consumers of TV and film — all while tapping into their creative side, working as a team, perfecting their public speaking skills, and looking at things with a critical eye.” She started the “Behind the Lens” Film Festival three years ago with professional judges and hosts an impressive Red Carpet, Oscar-style awards ceremony.
