As today’s #TeacherTuesday, we’re delighted to feature Nancy Wisniewski, a special education teacher in the New Hope-Solebury Middle School.
She says, “My passion is to work with students who struggle with school and to help them develop to their fullest potential.”
It’s important that her students comprehend their IEPs “because knowledge and understanding of one’s needs helps them to be better advocates for themselves.” Beyond that Nancy believes, “My most important job is to highlight my students’ strengths and build their self-confidence so that they know when things become difficult, they can persevere and know how to use their resources to find success.”
A true team player, she has brought her considerable skills to a variety of challenges in her 17 years with the district. Among her activities, Nancy has served as a moderator for the Middle School Spirit Club, been a team leader, and helped students and families at risk. She also helps to plan community service projects.
Nancy’s goal has always been to “continue to improve an excellent learning environment for our students.”
