When we learned about Paul DiRenzo, a band teacher who works with fourth through eighth grade students in Evergreen Elementary and Perkiomen Valley Middle School East in the Perkiomen Valley School District, we knew he was an ideal candidate for #TeacherTuesday.
His nominator said, “The relationships between his students and their families begin as young as fourth grade and continue well past high school in some cases. His students admire him and his heart is always full as he watches them progress through the district’s music programs.”
Paul realized he’d made the right decision to become a teacher when, “shortly after Christmas of my fourth teaching year, I was starting to get the impression that some of the older students that I taught were buying into my expectations and I was starting to see some real positive results in the students’ performance.”
Stories like this are music to our ears, so let us know what other educators are lighting up their students’ lives and we’ll feature them in an upcoming #TeacherTuesday.
