It’s hard to know where to begin when talking about this week’s #TeacherTuesday, Sally Kauffman. This beloved North Penn High School staff nurse is now a published author with her newly-released book, Wishing You Greatness by Sally Kauffman, available at Barnes & Noble and Amazon. Watching her grandson motivated her to write this book of inspiring and positive quotes. Beyond that, Sally has been a school nurse for 30 years and is coordinator of health services for the district. She forges partnerships with teachers, counselors, parents, outside agencies, doctors and health agencies and sees her role as educating students and providing one-on-one learning experiences, placing a strong emphasis on teaching good communication skills.
She also works with expectant mothers in the school, helping to support them through various challenges and bond with their babies, and reaching out to create partnerships with school counselors and community agencies who can also assist.
Summertime finds Sally serving in the district ESY program for special needs kids, and helping with not only health but communication challenges. She says simply, “What we all want to do is make a difference in somebody’s life.”
It’s clear that Sally does just that and we’re proud to call her one of our own. Check out her website: https://wishingyougreatness.wordpress.com/.
